Meet Our Team

Miss Lorna | Manager & Child Practitioner

I have worked in childcare for over 10 years. This was initially spent working in two previous nurseries and then in a children's centre. I took a break when I had my own 3 children but I returned to work just before my youngest started school. She attended Wild Kingfishers and enjoyed it so much that I joined as a helper, and I then became a member of staff in February 2018. I have always enjoyed working with children and I feel it's a privilege to be part of their 'early years' journey, if only for a short time. There's no greater reward than helping a shy and unsure preschooler grow into a confident and thriving person, ready for school.

Miss Danielle | Deputy Manager & Child Practitioner

I've worked in childcare for over 5 years and I am a fully qualified Early Years Practitioner. I really enjoy watching and supporting the growth and development of the children. Seeing them use their imagination in play fascinates me and I love to get stuck in, especially during outdoor play.

Miss Sharon | Bank Staff & Child Practitioner

I have my NVQ3 and have worked in childcare for 8 years. I also have two children of my own, now ages 14 and 27. I'm an incredibly bubbly person and love to interact with the children and get messy!

Our Swap Shop!

Clothes and accessories for  children up to 5 years old

We are helping families financially and creating community spirit by setting up our very own Swap Shop.

Children grow FAST - especially in their first 5 years, so it can be expensive with a continuous amount of de-cluttering.

The idea for our Swap Shop is so that you can donate your pre-loved items easily and pick up more clothes for your child for FREE. This is not about being thrifty - this is about recycling and reusing out genuine kindness and support for others.

NEXT DATE:

How it works:

£2 entry per person (this is the only money you pay on the day)

Take as many items as you need for FREE!

DONATIONS NEEDED!

Please donate your pre-loved clothes (up to 5 years old) to us between Monday to Friday, during the hours of 9am to 3pm - if we do not answer the doorbell immediately please call 01722 744 585. Or you can bring items with you on the day.

Our Hourly and Daily Rates

  • £3.00 per day for Breakfast Club

  • £5.50 per hour for 2 year old's*

  • £5.00 per hour for 3-5 year old's

*The difference in price is justified due to the ratio of staff: 2 year old's require a ratio of 1:4 and 3-5 year old's require 1:8, therefore the extra care legally required for a 2 year old is reflected in the price

Be prepared

We are lucky enough to have an extensive garden, surrounded by fields and the natural world, so we are outside a lot of time exploring, learning and playing (whatever the weather!).

Your child will need to come to Wild Kingfishers prepared for the day ahead and we recommend:

  • Cooler Days - hat, gloves and scarf, winter coat

  • Wet Days - rain coat and waterproofs, wellies

  • Sunny Days - sun hat, sun cream

Spare set clothes are a MUST because we will be getting dirty!

The benefits for children playing outside:

  • Builds physically healthier children

  • Contributes to cognitive and emotional development

  • Improves sensory skills

  • Increases attention spans

  • Promotes happiness and better immunity
